The Baptism of the Norwegian Mr. John Foyn Johannessen.
"… in the interview, about building an Orthodox Monastery in Norway, at the Great Fiord of Saint Olav, the Mayor also took part.
Hearing this news, something like a thunderbolt struck me. It was that which I was awaiting; immediately I caught fire. And I thought that the place at Great Fiord, where the future Monastery will be built, should certainly have competition.
I have my farm, which I work myself. This farm is situated in the mountains of the region of Folldal. I have goats and sheep. In the region of Folldal the people cultivate the land and mine metals out of the mountains. The highest part is named 'The Rooftop of Norway'. In this magnificent nature I have hundreds of acres of land. This acreage is surrounded by the most famous mountains of Norway, such as Rondane, Snohetta, Dovrefjell, etc. Very near are the 'National Parks'. I could write to You endlessly about the magnificence of the nature.
It would be a great honor for me to give You this acreage, for the purpose of building Your Monastery."
Letter to our Nun, from Norway, Thavoria,

To the beloved brother and co-celebrant Fr. Dionysios and to the brotherhood and the sisters. I pray that God will give them strength to overcome all the difficulities raised by visible and invisible enemies and to form lavras, with a multitude of Monks and Nuns. With infinite love towards my brother Dionyssios, I pray, for sometime I, too, a sinner, had distressed him very much, but the Elder never held malice against me, and he forgave me.
