"Today He Who hung the earth upon the waters is hung upon the Cross" (Sticheron of the Ninth Hour, Great and Holy Friday).
In his catechism an Elder used to say: "Many set out, but they didn’t reach the end, because they didn’t seek it with all their hearts." But you have God’s signature on this.

May the books and the Word of God be clasped in our arms. And then, it will be easy for us to learn languages, if not the languages of God, the language of God, the language of His love, wisdom and holiness. And then, we will have the appetite to cathechize and with only a sentence, the slightest little conversation, with one word to a person, it will suffice him to live all the rest of the years of his life.
The Church is not a school; it’s life. It’s a manger. It’s a Golgotha. It’s an empty tomb that speaks by its emptiness and by its newness. And because it was the theme of our Retreat, let’s cultivate the Sacrament of Confession in ourselves and each other.
