Enclosed is a copy of a letter that I have addressed to the Minister Provincial of Saint Mary's Province of the Capuchin Franciscan Friars, Father Bernard Smith.

I am sure this is an undertaking that will resonate with you, knowing your wholehearted commitment to Church unity.

I do hope it will be possible for you to encourage the Capuchin Provincial to explore ways in which he will be able to help Archimandrite Dionysios and his confreres bring to realisation the foundation of an Orthodox Monastery in close proximity to the General House of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, so dedicated to Church unity.

I might mention that this undertaking was initially the inspiration of His Eminence Archbishop lakovos, with whom I am sure you are well acquainted. It promises a most fruitful and on-going collaboration toward the realisation of Church unity.
